The Belgian EuroPsy Committee is pleased to announce that psychologists in Belgium can continue to apply for the EuroPsy Certificate under the current transitional arrangements until 31 March 2028.
These transitional arrangements are intended for psychologists who already meet the requirements for independent practice as a psychologist in Belgium. During this transitional period, they may demonstrate their professional experience instead of the usual requirement to provide evidence of one year of supervised practice.
To be eligible, applicants must:
• have at least three years of independent professional practice within the past ten years;
• provide evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD);
• commit to adhering to the applicable professional code of ethics.
The transitional arrangements recognise the competencies of experienced psychologists who qualified before the current EuroPsy framework was introduced and provide an opportunity to obtain the EuroPsy Certificate based on established professional experience.
Applications under these transitional arrangements can be submitted until 31 March 2028. After this date, the standard EuroPsy requirements will apply.
