Information provided by applicants in the registration form can be displayed on the BAPS website expert list. This information will not be used by BAPS for any other purposes besides the expert list.
Individuals can only be part of the BAPS expert list if they are a full member of the Belgian Association for Psychological Sciences. The expert list requires that full members have an affiliation with a higher education institution.
The BAPS EC evaluates new applications for the BAPS expert list and may contact applicants for additional information to support their application. The BAPS EC has the right to decline applications.
Being a member of the BAPS expert list involves that adhering to the following principles and values when communicating as an expert:
1) being cautious when communicating, as to not misrepresent scientific knowledge;
2) acknowledging potential disagreements in the scientific literature;
3) distinguishing what we know from what is uncertain based on the scientific literature;
4) communicating respectfully;
5) staying up-to-date on the state-of-the-art.
BAPS has the right to remove an individual from the expert list if the abovementioned principles and values are not respected by the individual.
